This course is a combination of web-based learning and an instructor-led skills session. It is designed to be flexible and self-paced. The first portion is completed online. This allows students to learn, review, and be assessed on the information before proceeding to the skills application. The second portion is the instructor-led skills session done in a classroom.

This course is designed to help individuals recognize and overcome the reluctance to act. Topics covered in this course include First Aid and CPR/AED for adults, plus CPR for children and infants. It also includes recognition of and care for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illness and injuries, breathing and cardiac emergencies, injury prevention, and heart disease prevention.
