ROCHESTER, N.Y., Thursday, March 11, 2010 – March is Red Cross Month and the Greater Rochester Chapter is celebrating! This weekend two of several events in March are planned and open to the public. A Day of Giving at 15 area Starbucks stores along with Pet First Aid at the Strong National Museum of Play. Red Cross Month is a time to highlight the various programs and services offered to the community and thank our generous supporters who make the work of the Red Cross possible everyday.
“Red Cross Month is a great time for people to get involved with their local Chapter,” said John Buttrill, CEO of the Greater Rochester Red Cross. “Donate blood; sign up for a CPR, First aid or another Red Cross course; give a financial gift that can really save the day when the next disaster strikes, or get involved as a volunteer. We hope the community will join us to learn more about the Red Cross in their backyard and get involved.”
