Background
To further benefit African American, Hispanic and other underrepresented community youth in our area the Red Cross and Big Brothers Big Sisters have signed a Memo of Understanding to mutually provide mentoring opportunities for the Next Generation Leaders Program participants.
This partnership will provide mentoring opportunities to African American, Hispanic and other underrepresented community students in grades 9-12 in four Rochester City School District Schools; Monroe High School, School of the Arts, Wilson Commencement Academy and Wilson Foundation Academy. For one year or more students will be matched with African American, Hispanic and other underrepresented community mentors who will promote trust, leadership development, academic enrichment and empowerment to purse higher education.
