16th Annual Fire & Ice Benefit Auction is Saturday at the Hyatt

What: Nearly 600 guests will enter the party and experience a 50’s-60’s style shindig at the
16th Annual Fire & Ice Benefit Auction. Fire & Ice is the Greater Rochester Red Cross’
biggest casual event of the year to help people after a disaster. Rochester is Rock’n
Red to raise money for the local disaster relief fund complete with a live and silent
auction, horsd’oeuvres, dinner, drinks and live entertainment.
When: Saturday, September 12 6 – 10 p.m.
Where: Hyatt Regency 125 East Main Street, Rochester, NY 14604
Background: Last year alone the Red Cross helped 1,149 people after a disaster with emergency
assistance. All of the money raised from Fire & Ice supports the Red Cross Disaster
Relief Fund to help families with emergency shelter, food, clothing and much more after
a fire or other disaster. Here’s how the evening will shake down:
6 p.m. Elvis is in the building. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and live
entertainment all while bidding on more than 200 silent auction items.
8 p.m. The sit down dinner begins and the feature presentation; a testimonial of a world
renowned Bonsai Tree Specialist and his family who survived a house fire and was
helped by the Red Cross, this is one of hundreds of families helped each year.
9 p.m. the live auction begins with items like a Lobster Bake for a party of 10, a Rock’n
Trip to Cleveland, a trainee day at the Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility,
luxury retreats to New York City, the Thousand Islands and more.
