ROCHESTER, N.Y., Thursday, August 13, 2009 — Two more Greater Rochester Red Cross volunteers are deploying to Gowanda in the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) to help with disaster relief efforts caused by the flooding.
Norma Clement, a resident of Gates and Annette Nohe, a resident of Victor will leave from the Greater Rochester Chapter, 50 Prince Street at 2 p.m., they will distribute Clean Up Kits from the ERV to the affected communities.
“Clean up Kits contain buckets, sponges, mops, towels, bleach and other materials, items that are essential to residents that were affected by the flooding in Chautauqua County,” said Richard King, Lead Disaster & Emergency Services Volunteer at the Greater Rochester Red Cross. “They are heading to the same area that Red Cross volunteers, Marty and Alan Durbin deployed to earlier today,” he said. All of the volunteers may be deployed for up to three days.
