Red Cross responds to two residential fires;
volunteers provide assistance
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Monday, October 24, 2011—Red Cross emergency response volunteers reported to a fire at 2401 East Ridge Road in Irondequoit today. Three children and one adult were affected by the blaze and were subsequently provided with food and other assistance.
Later in the afternoon, an apartment fire at 123 Griffith Street displaced nine residents. The Red Cross is providing food, housing, and clothing to the residents as needed.
