Red Cross deploys five more volunteers

 

ROCHESTER, N.Y., August 30, 2011—The Finger Lakes NY Region of the Red Cross is deploying five more volunteers to assist in the relief efforts following Hurricane Irene. The following are being deployed to New York City:
 
Larry Gonyou, of Lyons, Robert Barton, of Savannah, and Roger Kessler, of Canandaigua will be assisting in needs distribution, Harold Brink, of Penn Yan, will be assisting in the delivery of food and Susan Louis, of Rochester will be providing health services. Susan Louis is departing today - Delta Airlines at 2:41pm, from Greater Rochester International Airport. She will be available at 1:15pm prior to departure.
 
Since Friday, the Red Cross supported nearly 500 shelters from North Carolina to New England and has provided more than 48,000 overnight shelter stays.
