COLE & PARKS DONATES MARCH COOKIE SALES PROCEEDS

TO RED CROSS DISASTER FUND

VICTOR, N.Y., March 1, 2011—Throughout the month of March, when you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, do it at Cole & Parks! The restaurant and bakery on Rowley Road in Victor will donate $2 to the American Red Cross for every dozen cookies sold. Cookies come in a variety of mouthwatering flavors, including peanut butter & jelly, chocolate pecan crinkle, and old fashioned molasses, to name a few. Delicious and baked fresh on the premises, Cole & Parks cookies make excellent gifts and are always popular office treats.

“It is good timing to have Cole & Parks launch this initiative today,” said Taryn Windheim, Office Manager for the West Ontario branch of the Red Cross located in Canandaigua. “March is Red Cross Month, so it’s an opportune time for us to bring attention to the large scale humanitarian work we do in right in this area.”

The Red Cross provides local disaster assistance after every home fire in the Greater Rochester area, including Western Ontario County. This averages out to over one fire per day, a rate that can strain disaster relief budgets for the organization. “It’s great to see local businesses stepping up to support our organization,” said Leighton Jones, Director of Disaster and Emergency Services.

About the American Red Cross
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families.
