The Hair Raising Fundraiser for the American Red Cross begins today!

Canandaigua NY, Tuesday, February 1, 2011—Local salons and barbershops are teaming up to support the local Red Cross this month! Starting today, stop into any participating location to get your hair cut and make a donation to the Red Cross tip jars throughout the month of February.

“This friendly competition is a great way to support the Red Cross’s local disaster relief programs,” said Taryn Windheim, Director of the Red Cross’s West Ontario location. Patrons at participating salons and barber shops will have the opportunity to add their change to tip jars at the following locations:

• Delforte's Beauty Salon
• TJ's Barber Shop
• Studio 2000
• Just Your Style
• Riv's Barber Shop
• Hair Envy

• Lords and Ladies
   

Donations collected during this event will benefit the disaster fund in West Ontario. The Red Cross regularly provides shelter, food, clothing, and comfort to individuals and families displaced by fires and other emergencies. Donations will be collected and tallied at month’s end. The business with the most donations will be deemed the most generous salon or barber shop in town. Support your favorite establishment by helping them earn this prestigious title!
