RED CROSS IS SHAKING TO THE LATIN BEAT AT ANNUAL

FIRE & ICE BENEFIT AUCTION
Event to Raise $125,000 for Local Disaster Relief

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Friday, September 3, 2010 - The Greater Rochester Red Cross is hosting its Annual Fire & Ice Benefit Auction, the Red Cross’ biggest event of the year.  The festivities begin at 6 pm on Saturday, September 11 at the Hyatt Regency.  The event benefits Red Cross disaster relief.  Tickets are available now!

This year’s theme is Fiesta! Get ready to Rhumba and shake to the Latin Beat.  Come celebrate with us, in a spicy celebration, the significant accomplishments of the American Red Cross and the Greater Rochester Chapter.

“Fire & Ice was designed to raise critical dollars for local disaster relief,” said John Buttrill, CEO of the Greater Rochester Red Cross.  “Our local disaster relief fund is the primary source of support that enables the Red Cross to provide emergency shelter, food, new clothing, counseling and other assistance to the families and individuals who suffer loss due to fires and other natural and man made disasters in Monroe and West Ontario.”

The evening will be an exciting, fun-filled extravaganza featuring live and silent auctions, a “south of the border” themed dinner, cocktails, a floating trio, Trio Los Arpegios and an entertaining dance group, Bata Con Pies.

Guests will be able to bid on auction items such as: trips to NYC and Bald Head Island, N.C., and a lobster bake for ten people. Other auction items include a laptop, trips to see the Buffalo Sabres, a sapphire ring from Forsythe Jewelers, fine wines, and much more!

Among our sponsors will be The Napier Family, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Crosby-Brownlie, Inc. and The Frank DiMino Family. All of our sponsors will be honored at Fire & Ice this year for their philanthropy and dedicated support of the Red Cross, both locally and nationally.

September is Preparedness Month.  Ensure the Red Cross is able to respond to disasters in our area, join us at Fire & Ice Fiesta.  All proceeds will go to Red Cross local disaster relief.  Grab your friends, family, and colleagues--come to our Fiesta, and show your support.
