When the Civil War ended in the spring of 1865, Clara Barton was in her mid-forties. Although she had given three years of active service as a nurse on the front lines of the war, she was again ready to embark on a mission of mercy.

Loan Closet

The Red Cross Loan Closet focuses on the needs of our community members during times of illness. These health-related aids are on loan for a three month period.

 

Our chapter can provide hospital beds, wheelchairs, crutches, canes, walkers, shower seats, and commodes through this program.
